This HO scale New York Susquehanna & Western SD40-2 is one of our best-selling locomotives. Today, the vast majority of these locomotives remain in operation, many with their original owners (or their successor railroads), and examples can be found both across North America, and on railroads as far afield as Panama, Brazil, North Africa, and Australia. Designed for a wide variety of mainline and industrial roles, they are powered by a 3,000HP 16-cylinder EMD 16-645-E3 Prime mover. One distinctive spotting feature, when compared against other similar EMD locomotives, is their longer than average end platforms. This Bachmann HO scale SD40-2 features realistic, prototypical detail, and comes ready for operation with a factory-installed DCC decoder.
