NOTE: This Locomotive is a Master Line Silver Series (DCC READY) New York Susquehanna & Western’s Utica Branch interchanges with CSX near Union Station in Utica NY. GP40 #3040 is the star of the rail operations. Famously documented by Railroad Rambler on Youtube, the prototype #3040 is often found switching out railcars for several of Susquehanna’s customers such as FX Matt ‘Saranac’ Brewery and others as far south as Sangerfield in Oneida County. Atlas Model Railroad Co. has brought this Central New York local favorite to their N scale line as Atlas Master; available in Gold (DCC & Sound Equipped) and Silver (DCC and Sound Ready). The GP-40 was produced by the Electro Motive Division in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the GP-40 was a 3000 horsepower locomotive best characterized by the three full size radiator fans on the rear of the roof.
