Description

This "New York Central in Central New York" 2023 calendar published by the Central NY Chapter, National Railway Historical Society is the fifth calendar in this series. This special edition features the never-before-published Marchant family photographs. "Ralph Marchant started his railroad career in 1906 when he was in his twenties with the Marion Railroad. In 1918, he moved to Syracuse to work for the New York Central. He first served as fireman, then a switch locomotive engineer, later moving up to the Western Division. He only operated steam locomotives and didn't welcome the transition to the diesel era. Ralph passed away from pneumonia while still employed as an engineer for the New York Central in 1957. Ralph's son, Dick, photographed his father on the job and his photographs are featured in this calendar." Printed on high quality glossy paper, these calendars are sure to delight any New York Central railroad enthusiast and will look great on your wall all year long. Easy-to-read months and days and special Chapter sponsored events such as the "Spring Ahead Model Train Show" in March, our station museum opening weekend in May and the "Great New York State Model Train Fair" in November will help you not forget these imporant events. Calendar features over 15 black & white photographs. Interesting captions explain the picture and a handy overview of East Syracuse locomotive service facility is included. THIS IS A LIMITED QUANTITY ITEM THAT WILL NEVER BE REPRINTED.
