Description

M.T.H. Electric Trains has announced an exclusive and un-cataloged Premier O Scale 4-4-0 Steam Locomotive in New York Ontario & Western livery for M.T.H. Authorized Retailer Jr Junction Train & Hobby. The locomotive will be produced in extremely limited quantities beginning in June 2026.

The New York Ontario & Western G-Class 4-4-0 American steam locomotive played an integral part of the history of steam locomotives.  Pulling mixed consists throughout the railroad, this locomotive was known for its speed, efficiency and its attractive appearance.  Featuring a polished black iron boiler, solid brass accents and beautiful walnut cabs, this class locomotive was a great pride of engine crews as evidenced by how well they maintained their iron horses.

Just like the engine crew, Jr Junction Train & Hobby is equally proud to bring to the O scale modeling community the very first and only quarter inch scale model G-Class locomotive of the O&W Rwy.  This engine number 73 was photographed at the depot of Sylvan Beach, New York on the eastern end of Oneida Lake, when people flocked to the beach resort village.  There were several express trains between New York City and Oswego, New York as these trains were often heard speeding through the night over hills and valleys throughout the line.  There isn't a lot of documentation written about the early specifications of locomotives. We spent many hundreds of hours researching the prototypical accuracy of this model including collaborating with highly respected modelers and members of the O&W Railway Historical Society for their vast knowledge, whom we are eternally grateful.
