Description
Our Jr Junction Train & Hobby exclusive custom release of this accurate, beautifully detailed model of the New York Central Caboose #19877 is based on the restored caboose owned by the Rochester And Genesee Valley Railroad Museum. The caboose is located at their museum in Rush, NY.
This Premier model represents a typical woodsided, steel underframe caboose built in the early 20th century by New York Central’s Despatch Shops in Oswego NY. While new construction generally switched to all-steel by the 1920s, hundreds of refurbished wood cabooses with steel underframes were still seen on the entire New York Central System into the 1960s. MTH Premier O Scale freight cars are the perfect complement to any manufacturer’s scale proportioned O Gauge locomotives. Whether you prefer to purchase cars separately or assemble a unit train, MTH Premier Rolling Stock has the cars for you in a variety of car types and paint schemes.
This sturdy New York Central caboose is offered in two car numbers and also available in Boston & Albany livery which makes it even easier than ever to combine them into multi-trains and dioramas. Many of MTH’s Premier Rolling Stock offerings can also operate on the tightest O Gauge curves giving them even more added versatility to your layout. This three-rail caboose may easily be upgraded to scale two-rail trucks and Kadee (style) scale couplers.
