Our Jr Junction Train & Hobby exclusive custom release of this accurate, beautifully detailed model of the New York Central Caboose #19144 is based on the fully restored caboose owned by the Central New York Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, Inc.. The caboose is located on public display at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.

This Premier model represents a typical woodsided, steel underframe caboose built in the early 20th century by New York Central’s Despatch Shops in Oswego NY. While new construction generally switched to all-steel by the 1920s, hundreds of refurbished wood cabooses with steel underframes were still seen on the entire New York Central System into the 1960s. MTH Premier O Scale freight cars are the perfect complement to any manufacturer’s scale proportioned O Gauge locomotives. Whether you prefer to purchase cars separately or assemble a unit train, MTH Premier Rolling Stock has the cars for you in a variety of car types and paint schemes.

This sturdy New York Central caboose is offered in two car numbers and also available in Boston & Albany livery which makes it even easier than ever to combine them into multi-trains and dioramas. Many of MTH’s Premier Rolling Stock offerings can also operate on the tightest O Gauge curves giving them even more added versatitlity to your layout. This three-rail caboose may easily be upgraded to scale two-rail trucks and Kadee (style) scale couplers.
